New VC term sheet option for founders: when the inevitable movie is made about this company we will help produce it and pick who is cast as you.

There are three different movies and one documentary about various tech personalities we know here this year (?!).

Great to partner with NVIDIA as we kick off this next chapter for Windows.

Thank you @JensenHuang and @sriramk for joining us today!

We are in a very unique moment with agents. It was a delight to be invited by @Microsoft to their reveal today of several new agentic capabilities for Windows and to talk to @satyanadella and @JensenHuang .

- MXC containers - a local sandbox for agentic execution.
- Hybrid intelligence of actions that can take effect using local models or be routed to models in the cloud.
- Brand new Copilot experiences around agentic usage (@jacobandreou had a very fun demo doing his taxes without any remote models being involved)
- Powered on a new gen of local hardware starting with the Surface Laptop Ultra/ Nvidia RTX Spark.

Stepping back, we are obviously at the beginning of a new era of agents and we are figuring out new primitives and standards as we go along. I for one am looking forward to not having to give my agents full access to everything for menial tasks.

Some photos from today.

this reminds me of when oauth was developed in the early 2000s - something that needs to be built cross-industry as an open standard and have buy in.

the larger question is how will large retailers and aggregators - Amazon, airlines, etc react and handle an era where they can't own the final user experience.

Today we’re announcing Personal Agent Protocol — an open standard @Meta and @SierraPlatform are developing along with industry partners at @Genesys, @instinct, @RocketOTD, @Shopify, @stripe, and @Walmart. It will help define how personal agents interact with businesses and is open for anyone to implement. You can read more here - and if anyone is interested in joining let me know! sierra.ai/blog/introduci…

This is one of the best things I’ve posted in terms of being able to get talented people in tech connected to potential roles in the public sector.

We need a lot more talent working with people like @jgebbia @USWREMichael @SamCorcos @skupor and many others.

Sriram Krishnan@sriramk · Aug 18

One common theme of conversation over the last month has been: how do we get more technical people to work in DC or do a tour of duty. There are many many parts of USG where there’s technical expertise needed, especially with anything involving the AI stack.

If you are an engineer or researcher, consider a stint working in any part of the USG or DoW or anywhere where the public sector of the country needs more technical help.

Also if you are reading this and interested, DM me and I am happy to make some connections.

one side effect of the math work solved by leading models is exposing a bunch of us to Lean for formal proofs.

wasn’t familiar with how broadly adopted it had gotten in the math community last decade. has been fun to get into.

congratulations to @reflection_ai on the launch of Beam.

It is critical for the U.S. to have leading open models to win the AI race. I know @MishaLaskin and team have been working on this for a while and very excited to see them launch this.

Reflection@reflection_ai · Oct 5

Introducing Beam: a highly efficient agentic open model with 501B total parameters and 23B active.

- Frontier reasoning efficiency
- Advances the Western open frontier on coding & agentic tasks
- Trained end-to-end from scratch

Full weights release this month.

whenever I see
- "claude/chatgpt has started debugging your browser"
- have to give an agent full disk and/or accessibility access

I'm convinced we need fundamentally better security primitives for agents to do work as us - and we are living in an awkward intermediate era.

we are seeing a come back of product management when it comes to the design and UX of personal agents.

instinct / dot / muse / grok bot all have significant product work on tying together ux with model capabilities underneath and its access to various services.

in all of these cases I rarely care about the underlying model but very much care about the big and little touches ( the muse activity notification, the little thumbs up emoji in Instinct to acknowledge a message and more).

contrast this with the “upgrade to latest model” path we are otherwise on.

Self recommending conversation between @DavidGeorge83 and @jaltma

Jack Altman@jaltma · Oct 1

Loved the conversation on Uncapped with @DavidGeorge83, head of growth investing at a16z. He's an incredible investor and can go deep on a huge range of topics.

We talked all about investing at this point in the AI cycle and we covered a lot of ground -- frontier vs. open source, what could make it all keep running vs. slow down, application vs. infra, robotics and autonomy, narrative and vibes, and lots more.

Hope you enjoy!

Fixing login seems like the next hurdle for agents like muse/instinct. find myself fighting with a lot of passwords / 2FA / passkey situations.

would want an agent to take over the cookie/session store in one of my local machines and use it for communicating with online services when possible.
