Privacy policy
Last updated October 8, 2026
PeekX is built to need as little information about you as possible.
What we don't collect
- No accounts, names, emails or passwords.
- No log of which X accounts or posts you look up. Analytics pages are anonymized to page types (for example “a profile page”).
- No copies of the media you download — files go directly from X's servers to your device.
What is processed
- IP address, briefly and in memory only, to rate-limit abuse (for example more than a few dozen lookups per minute). It isn't written to a database.
- Anonymous usage statistics through Google Analytics 4 (page type, country, device type, and actions such as “downloaded a video”). You can block it with any content blocker without affecting the site.
- Local storage in your browser for your theme choice and your recent searches. It never leaves your device; clear it with the “Clear” button on the home page.
Third parties
Pages load images and videos from X's content servers (twimg.com), which may receive your IP address like any website you visit. Our hosting provider (Vercel) processes standard request logs.
Removal requests
PeekX shows only public content cached for at most 30 minutes. If you deleted a post or made your account private, it disappears from PeekX automatically. For anything else, write to hello@peekx.app.
