This particular style of Art Deco is my absolute favourite

Most domestic recycling efforts are empirically retarded, counterproductive, and require you don't value your time. Their real function is to fill the God-shaped hole, sized for penance, prayer, and sacrifice, in people's souls. wsj.com/opinion/most-r…

A few people asked if our America.gov launch demos were made in After Effects. They were actually built in code with React and Motion, running in the browser and using our design system components.

We took this approach to have fine control over the details: adjust the formatting of a response, change a layout or tweak the timing, then run through the demo again and see how it felt on the big screen. Every transition was reversible with the arrow keys, so we could move seamlessly forward or back, match the presenter’s cadence and adjust the pace in real time.

Steve Jobs decided to step down as a CEO of Apple just 10 days before he passed away, as he thought he no longer can meet his duties.

Steve Jobs was dedicated to give Apple a smooth CEO transition
And Tim Cook learned from him, once he thought he no longer can give it all of him, he gave the company its second smooth CEO transition and stepped down.

Here’s his resignation letter:
August 24, 2011
“To the Apple Board of Directors and the Apple Community:
I have always said if there ever came a day when I could no longer meet my duties and expectations as Apple's CEO, I would be the first to let you know.
Unfortunately, that day has come.
Thereby resign as CEO of Apple. I would like to serve, if the Board sees fit, as Chairman of the Board, director and Apple employee.
As far as my successor goes, I strongly recommend that we execute our succession plan and name Tim Cook as CEO of Apple.
I believe Apple's brightest and most innovative days are ahead of it. And I look forward to watching and contributing to its success in a new role.
I have made some of the best friends of my life at Apple, and I thank you all for the many years of being able to work alongside you.”

P.S.
Steve purchased Siri a year and a half prior, after calling Siri’s founders for 30 days trying to convince them to buy it.
Apple launched Siri just the day before Steve passed away.

Andrew Ross Sorkin gushes over Trump's new America. gov website on live TV while Joe Kernen sits there stunned.

Sorkin is not a Trump fan, and he lets that be known. But the moment he said the word "credit," Kernen nearly fell out of his chair.

SORKIN: “I want to be clear. I am actually not critical of the president in this instance at all, because I actually think it was great to bring everybody together.”

“For 29,000 websites, the ability to get a passport, the ability to get your medicare. I mean, the it was like being at a product. It was like being at an Apple product announcement. And when they went through what they did and the president was there in the morning and walked through what they were doing, and Marco Rubio was there, Scott Bessent was there, the whole cabinet was there. It was one of those moments where you actually thought the government was working for you, really? And Gebbia deserves an extraordinary amount of praise for it.”

KERNEN: “Do you feel great? Are you have the warmest fuzziest feeling right now listening.”

SORKIN: “And by the way, the president deserves credit for that."

KERNEN: "Oh my God!"

SORKIN: "Credit for putting you in that role. And Jeb and his team putting it all together.”

KERNEN: “So now I'm getting hot flashes. Wow. So this is just amazing.”

CONTEXT (What happened): Trump launched America. gov, a single government site meant to replace 29,000 federal websites for things like passports and Medicare. It was built by Airbnb co-founder Joe Gebbia, and Sorkin was in the room for the demo.

Sorkin also credited the Trump accounts interface as "really easy to use" and "like using a real app."

Very honored to work with @ODNIgov , @USWREMichael and @AFergusonFTC and the entire SIF committee members to deliver on @POTUS mission - the U.S. will continue to lead in SI to enhance the well-being of all Americans

U.S. Chief Design Officer @jgebbia shares some pretty absurd numbers about how Americans currently deal with the federal government:

- 29,000 government websites
- 10 billion hours spent navigating federal paperwork
- 87 clicks to replace a Social Security card

.@SecWar "It’s worth saying again so that the fake news understands it.

We are no longer the woke department or the weak department... no fatties, no trannies, no beardos, no weirdoes, no wimps, no radicals—JUST WARRIORS."

Chief Design Officer @jgebbia officially unveils America.gov, the new online home for the United States of America

Starting next year, most Americans will apply for their passport entirely online. A revolution in how government works for the American people. The Trump Administration is making government simpler, faster, and more accessible.

So much of Airbnb’s success came from @jgebbia’s design brilliance. I’m delighted he brought those gifts to our government.

Our country designed great buildings, but for most Americans, the front door to government is now a website. Starting today, that experience they will be beautiful, elegant, and human.

Proud of you, Joe.

Introducing the official IRS app!

We used to get hurricanes all the time. Big, powerful storms—beautiful storms, but they were a disaster. And you know why? Because they didn’t respect America, they thought we were weak. So I called NOAA and FEMA and said “we’re changing it to the Gulf of America, because these hurricanes have gotta stop pushing us around, it’s not good.” And the weather people said “sir, you can’t just change the name of an ocean, it won’t stop the hurricanes, they’re too strong!” But we changed the name and we got Tim Apple to change the maps and now we don’t have hurricanes anymore.
