Take a peek under the microscope with us at a new @NASA material! 🔬

It could be produced directly on the Moon or Mars and be used for manufacturing during future space missions, allowing NASA to pack fewer supplies — saving weight and reducing launch costs.

Research chemical engineer Allison Christy and her team developed the substance at NASA Glenn by mixing a special, recyclable plastic with simulated Moon or Mars dust.

The grayish image shows sample material produced using mock Moon dust, while the reddish image shows material made with mock Mars dust.

Football fans at the Sept. 27 game engaged with @NASAAdmin Jared Isaacman, astronaut Doug Wheelock, and other team members from Glenn — Cleveland's very own @NASA center — to learn more about the future of flight and space exploration.

During the national anthem, Glenn employees Greeta Thaikattil and Heather Brown took to the skies with Isaacman and his Freedom 250 F-5 team as they performed the Browns' first-ever NASA flyover.
