This is the Italian model Alessandro di Marco. But no, he's not advertising Versace aftershave, as he was actually born almost 200 years ago! This striking portrait was taken by Julia Cameron in 1867 and was credited simply as “The Italian Iago” from Shakespeare’s ‘Othello’. Famed for his dashing good looks, Alessandro modelled for many Victorian artists and scultors and thereby became the hidden subject of many famous works of art, some of which I have included for you in the comments below ⬇️

As a kid I had no idea Batman was a comedy. I remember being mad when my Dad would laugh during what felt like high tension to me. It worked on so many levels.
Zack Stentz@MuseZack · 6hIt's embarrassing to admit that I grew up with Adam West Batman reruns in the 1980s and as a kid thought the show was funny but embarrassing & corny. Now I find it completely delightful & realize the writers knew exactly what they were doing.

I always thought Brian Blessed would be good in one of those Quiet Place movies.
Lissa Evans@LissaKEvans · Oct 9Happy Birthday to the one and only Brian Blessed! I wrote a book for children called 'Wed Wabbit', and based the Green Wimbley Woos (you'll have to read it) on Mr Blessed.

Reform UK-ers vented their fury at this spoof teacher’s note about a nativity play and the joke was very much on them

I spent a wonderfully fun and spooky evening at The London Palladium last night in the company of Prof. Reece Shearsmith performing his book tour show.
We were also overjoyed by the surprise guests. Reece's part storytelling, part memoir wot is in my hand was published yesterday.

Listening to the audiobook version of KING ZERO, the first full length James Bond novel written by @monstroso Charlie Higson, and I'm enjoying it immensely. Peter Serafinowicz does a stellar job narrating the book. No spoilers but the opening scene is incredible.

ALSO BREAKING: Galactic Empire internal report clears Darth Vader and Grand Moff Wilhuff Tarkin of wrongdoing over Alderaan destruction.
Steven Swinford@Steven_Swinford · Oct 7Breaking:
Reform UK has published its internal investigation into two of Farage's closest allies secretly plotted for a foreign donor to fund off the books polling
It has cleared both the party and Dan Jukes and James Orr of wrongdoing. A police investigation is ongoing
At the heart of its defence is the claim repeated by Nigel Farage that Jukes was a 'contractor', rather than someone at the heart of the party who was critical to Farage's operation
'Reform UK did not commission any of the three opinion polls. It did not contract for them, was not quoted for them, was not invoiced for them and made no payment for them. It holds no record of any of those things.
'The polls were commissioned by Mr Jukes, a contractor with several clients other than Reform and an independent commercial relationship with the polling company, on his own account and at his own risk.
'The findings of each poll, and the underlying tables, entered the public domain on publication. Nothing was supplied to the party before publication or beyond what was published'
