World Vision Rwanda

How is your day going?

Ours got more interesting with our National Director & People & Culture Director in the hot seat, as the Senior Leadership Team answered: Who’s most likely to…? 👀

Watch the fun and see if they got it right! 😂

A day to pause, pray, and give thanks. 🙏

We prayed, we celebrated what God has done this year, and we committed the next fiscal year into His hands.

See the highlights of our Day of Prayer.

During the Day of Prayer, @WVRwanda also celebrated FY26 achievements and recognized staff who demonstrated excellence, those who have faithfully served for over a year, and clusters and project that excelled in serving the most vulnerable children.

@WVRwanda was blessed to have Prof, Nathan Chiroma who shared a powerful devotion.

He shared three key reflections as we enter FY27:

1. God's love begins before our work does.
2. God love makes room for people we might overlook.
3. God’s love gives faithful and wisely.

Before @WVRwanda & @VFRwanda existed, before strategies & targets, God loved the world. Our work is not just about organizational performance at the heart of our mission, we serve a God who sees & loves people." — Grace Dushimimana, CEO Vision Fund Rwanda

In her remarks, @WVRwanda National Director, @PaulineOkumu thanked partners, World Vision staff and vision Fund for their contribution towards a successful ending of the fiscal year

She said that as we enter FY 2027, year one of our strategy was about building the foundation.

Happening Now: Annual Day of Prayer

@WVRwanda and Vision Fund Rwanda are coming together for the Annual Day of Prayer, joining the World Vision Partnership in a time of prayer, thanksgiving and reflection as we begin a new year of service.

Today we were blessed to be ministered to by Joel.
He reminded us that we are saved by grace not by our works, not by our strength, but by God's grace alone.

In his keynote remarks, Dr. Nelson Mbarushimana, @REBRwanda Director General, emphasized that promoting literacy is a shared responsibility. He urged parents to guide children in choosing what to read and teachers to nurture a love for reading.

“Literacy is not a privilege for a few; it is a foundation for dignity, opportunity & participation. Let us invest in quality, inclusive education so everyone can learn, participate and thrive.”

— Patrick Sebagabo; Strategy, Program & Quality Director @WVRwanda

One of the highlights of this #InternationalLiteracyDay was seeing partners come together to read to children and share the joy of stories.

As co-chair of SOMA RWANDA alongside @REBRwanda , @WVRwanda was delighted to join SOMA partners in celebrating #InternationalLiteracyDay & launching National Literacy Month, reaffirming our shared commitment to advancing literacy & ensuring every child can read, learn & thrive.
