At the launch of the 2026 #TekanaOnline campaign, Hon. Minister @MusoniPaula joined cybersecurity experts, industry leaders and the wider ICT ecosystem to officially launch this year’s campaign under the theme “Be Cyber Smart.”

The month-long campaign will raise awareness on online safety, strengthen cybersecurity resilience across organisations, and encourage young people to explore careers in cybersecurity.

@RwandaParliamnt has ratified EUR 17 million in financing from the International Development Association (IDA) to support Rwanda's Digital Acceleration Project.

The financing will expand digital access, strengthen public e-services, support digital innovation, and enhance cybersecurity and data protection through initiatives such as Smart Digital Identification and the Data Hub.

During the Monetary Policy and Financial Stability Statement, Governor @SorayaMHlive highlighted that, "Despite the shocks our economy has gone through this year, GDP growth of 9.7% in the first six months is very high. Growth has been broad-based, driven by strong performance in industry, services and agriculture, with construction and manufacturing playing a key role."

Kigali is becoming a strong gateway for private capital entering Rwanda and the wider region.

Christine Maina, CEO of the East Africa Private Capital Association (EAPCA), reflected on the decision to host the 2027 EAPCA Annual Private Capital Conference in Kigali.

“The relationship has evolved from KIFC’s participation in EAVCA platforms to a broader strategic partnership focused on strengthening East Africa’s private-capital ecosystem.”

This partnership is already contributing to tangible market outcomes.

Firms including CPF Group, Tajiri Capital and Watu Credit have established operations, investment vehicles or licensed entities in Rwanda; bringing new expertise and expanding access to capital for businesses across the country and the region.

For KIFC, this is strategic ecosystem-building in action: creating the connections and confidence that help turn investor interest into investment.

Minister @Yusuf_Murangwa today received H.E. Andreas Reichhardt, Vice Minister for Finance of Austria, and his delegation for a courtesy visit. Discussions focused on potential areas of bilateral cooperation, including health, public finance management, mining, tourism, environment, and digitalization using Government to Government and Business to Business approaches

Minister @Yusuf_Murangwa today received the Swiss Ambassador to Rwanda, H.E. Giles Cerutti, for a courtesy call.
They discussed opportunities to broaden cooperation between the two countries beyond the current scope to include, among others, trade and investment, pharmaceutical production, AI, data science, academic research, and innovation, while attracting more FDI.

Rwanda and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) have reached a staff-level agreement on the first review of Rwanda's Extended Credit Facility program, reflecting strong economic performance, including 9.7% growth in the first half of 2026.
Once approved by the IMF Executive Board, Rwanda will have access to about US$35.7 million to support the economic program and ongoing reforms.
