During the Monetary Policy and Financial Stability Statement, Governor @SorayaMHlive highlighted that, "Despite the shocks our economy has gone through this year, GDP growth of 9.7% in the first six months is very high. Growth has been broad-based, driven by strong performance in industry, services and agriculture, with construction and manufacturing playing a key role."

Today, Governor @SorayaMHlive and NBR Executive Directors Chantal Kasangwa and Frances Ihogoza joined African Senior women in finance, regulation and economic governance for the 2026 Graça Machel Trust Expert Leaders’ Forum, held under the theme, “Women Shaping Africa’s Economic Reset: From Participation to Influence.”

The Forum reflected on what it means for African women to move from participation to influence in shaping Africa’s economic future.

Yesterday, Governor @SorayaMHlive had a courtesy call with Dr. Regis O. N’Sonde, Executive Director at the International Monetary Fund (IMF), representing #Rwanda and 17 other African countries on the IMF Executive Board.

Discussions focused on #Rwanda’s monetary policy and strengthening continued cooperation with IMF in support of the country’s economic priorities.

Yesterday, Governor @SorayaMHlive held a virtual meeting with Governor Dr Phil Mnisi of the Central Bank of Eswatini (CBE) to review progress under the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that was signed in April 2026.

The meeting reaffirmed both institutions’ commitment to practical and mutually beneficial knowledge exchange, with priority areas including economic research, cross-border payments, cybersecurity, human capital development in African central banks and institutional reform.
