48 hours in Osaka meeting great founders, corporates, and government reps

My message to each:

Founders: trade believability for audacity, certainty for upside, and short-term results for long-term impact

Corporates: partner with startups early, adapt before you're adapted to, and suspend disbelief.

Governments: buy from startups instead of handing out grants, and push everyone else to do the same.

Japan has all the ingredients for many more great startups!

Amca has been awarded a contract by the @USArmy, establishing an enterprise-wide partnership with Army Materiel Command for rapid engineering, qualification, and component production.

This is the first partnership of its kind, designed to increase readiness for a priority missile system by re-engineering and improving manufacturability of critical components and subsystems.

Today, Covenant is emerging from stealth and introducing Anthem: a heavy-payload deep precision strike capability designed for mass production, with deliveries beginning in the thousands in 2027.

We’ve raised $250 million, flown Anthem in more than 200 tests, and secured approximately $150 million in orders, including contracts with the U.S. Army, U.S. Navy, and key international allies.

We’re building Anthem at our 105,000-square-foot production facility in Dallas, alongside factories in Germany and Israel.

Covenant is backed by @a16z, @foundersfund, @Lux_Capital, @lightspeedvp, @8vc, @aleph, and @AltimeterCap.

Deep precision strike is the biggest gap in the arsenal of the West, and we spent the last two years building Anthem to fill it.

"Success can be just as mysterious as failure. Some researchers consistently get experiments to work, earning befuddled admiration from colleagues. Scientists even have a special term for this gift: magic hands.

The idea may come as a surprise to people who don’t spend their lives in labs. Science is not supposed to be magic.

When scientists carry out experiments, they keep careful records, both in lab notebooks and later in published scientific papers. Other researchers use that information to repeat the experiment.

But every scientist discovers sooner or later that essential knowledge is not necessarily written down."
