Yesterday, the #Israeli community in #Rwanda, together with friends of Israel in Rwanda, gathered to mark three years since the October 7, 2023 massacre.

Three years have passed, but the pain of that day remains. We remembered the lives brutally taken🕯️, the families torn apart, and the emptiness that can never be filled.

As the Embassy of Israel in Kigali, we are deeply grateful to everyone who stood with us in remembrance. We will continue to remember the victims, honour their memory, and tell their stories so that October 7 is never forgotten.

Three years since the October 7 massacre.

Behind every name is a life, a family, and an empty place that can never be filled.

We remember each and every one. 🕯️

May their memories forever be a blessing.

At 6:29 a.m. on October 7, 2023, Palestinian Hamas terrorists invaded Israel.

They stormed communities, murdered families in their homes, raped, burned and kidnapped.

Three years on, Israel remembers the victims and the barbarity of Palestinian jihadist terrorism.

We will never forget.

Everyone deserves the opportunity to hear, learn and fully participate in society. 💙

In partnership with @ekitabu, we provided hearing aids to some of its beneficiaries with hearing impairment. The aids, locally made by @GeuzaLtd — a Rwandan company using technology and innovation to transform waste into affordable assistive devices — reflect the power of Rwandan innovation to create affordable solutions that promote inclusion, dignity and independence.

We believe partnerships like these are important in turning innovation and collaboration into tangible opportunities for a more inclusive society.

Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement, is the holiest day of the Jewish year - a day of fasting, prayer, reflection and forgiveness.

Once a year, Israel comes to a near standstill. The roads empty. Businesses close. The noise of everyday life fades.

From the streets of Tel Aviv to Jerusalem’s Old City, a unique quiet settles across the country.

A day to pause, look inward and start anew.

This is Israel on Yom Kippur. 🤍🇮🇱

Ambassador @AmbEinatWeiss was hosted at Hope Haven Christian School by its founder, Susan Hollern- and had an interaction with its inspiring students.

The school's work in education and agriculture, as well as its efforts to create meaningful opportunities for young people is truly encouraging

We look forward to building on this visit and exploring opportunities for a long-term partnership. 🇮🇱🇷🇼

Today, @AmbEinatWeiss met with @NicoleUwamariya, the Co-founder and CEO of @GeuzaLtd, a remarkable Rwandan company using technology and innovation to transform waste into affordable assistive devices that improve mobility and independence for people with disabilities.
