Yesterday, the #Israeli community in #Rwanda, together with friends of Israel in Rwanda, gathered to mark three years since the October 7, 2023 massacre.

Three years have passed, but the pain of that day remains. We remembered the lives brutally taken🕯️, the families torn apart, and the emptiness that can never be filled.

As the Embassy of Israel in Kigali, we are deeply grateful to everyone who stood with us in remembrance. We will continue to remember the victims, honour their memory, and tell their stories so that October 7 is never forgotten.

At 6:29 a.m. on October 7, 2023, Palestinian Hamas terrorists invaded Israel.

They stormed communities, murdered families in their homes, raped, burned and kidnapped.

Three years on, Israel remembers the victims and the barbarity of Palestinian jihadist terrorism.

We will never forget.

The atrocities are denied, terrorism excused and antisemitism spreads.
The world must choose: confront terrorism or keep making excuses for it.

A great time at the 29th #Rwanda International Trade Fair (#Expo2026) 🇷🇼 organised by the @PSF_Rwanda and @RwandaTrade.

I enjoyed walking around, meeting people and seeing the creativity, energy and ambition behind so many Rwandan businesses.

The many stands I visited at the expo grounds were a real reminder of what can be achieved when ideas meet determination.

Pleased to welcome #Rwandan influencers @SolNishimwe and @Sysugira following their recent tour of Israel. Was also glad to hear that firsthand impressions—from engaging with Israel's rich history and culture to experiencing its innovation, diversity, and everyday life had a unique way of building their understanding beyond headlines.

People-to-people connections are at the heart of lasting partnerships and we believe such conversations, experiences, and perspectives will continue to inspire dialogue and strengthen the friendship between our two countries

Glad to meet with a group from the University of Rwanda Law Students Association @UR_Law_Students and was inspiring learning of the work they do around promoting legal awareness in communities among others.

Also discussed potential areas of collaboration particularly in their upcoming #URLSALawConnectSummit2026.

I had the pleasure of visiting the @Jordan_fndation and meeting its inspiring founder, Bahati Vanessa at the site of construction of the Foundation’s modern school facility. Her unwavering dedication to empowering visually impaired children through education and inclusion is a powerful reminder of how one person's vision can transform countless lives.

Was honoured to discuss how we can build on the strong partnership that already exists between the Embassy and the Foundation and we look forward to enhancing our collaboration to ensure that even more children can reach their full potential.
