The City University of New York

The college that does the most to lift poor kids into the middle class probably isn't one you've heard of. It's not Harvard. It's not MIT. It might be a CUNY campus.

My experience attending @YorkCollegeCUNY alongside my father inspired me to establish @CUNY Reconnect, a program that has already helped 47,000 students return to college to finish their degrees.

This video shared before my State of the City address showcases the life-changing impact this program has had on adult learners.

✅ Established and funded CUNY Reconnect, a new program to help working-adult students who left college return for their degree and increase their economic opportunity.

For decades, @CUNY's Black Male Initiative has empowered young scholars with academic and social support to improve the enrollment and retention of under-represented students.

This morning, I was proud to speak at their legislative breakfast at @YorkCollegeCUNY to share how we can continue working together to invest in their success.

Thank you to CUNY BMI for your vital work!
