National Tight End Day this season is October 25th.
Every TE in the league wearing an 89 patch that day would be really cool.

EJ Snyder@FootballEJ · 18hIdea for honoring Mike Ditka: Instead of just the Bears having a patch on their uniforms, make one that every TE in the league could wear. He was so far ahead of his time at that position (his rookie TE receiving record stood for 63 years!) it'd be a cool way to honor his legacy.

The first week we put in a -10 point punishment for missing the 10-spot confidence pick, @TampaBayTre misses that pick with the Bucs win.

It’s a three possession game whether you kick it or go for it and succeed.
The only realistic way for it to be a two possession game is for the Bucs to do exactly what they just did.

I understand why Shep is frustrated but the right call with the wrong guys is the wrong call.

What’s Sean gonna do, call Dagger even more?
Adam Schefter@AdamSchefter · Oct 8The Broncos are taking a more collaborative play-calling approach this week with HC Sean Payton having an increased role in the process and OC Davis Webb continuing with a significant game-planning and game-day role, per sources. Denver is looking to spark its offense ahead of Sunday’s game at Los Angeles vs. the Chargers.

imo recent history suggests that the talent pool is getting thinned out by NIL now, so the shelf is hitting a round or two earlier.
If that trend holds the 2 is even more valuable imo.

Jason_OTC@Jason_OTC · Oct 8They basically paid $17m for a 2 and 5. Many would be taken to task for that decision matrix when the alternative would have neen a 3rd or 4th comp pick for free

You guys have the most efficient screen game in the NFL and the 49ers have the 3rd-best.
You also have the 30th-ranked defense in defending the screens and the 49ers aren't much better.
Why does the screen game matter, and how do you stop it?
"Maybe I shouldn't be the guy answering the question of how to stop it."

.@stephenasmith your comments about Lane were ignorant and disrespectful. Saying afterward that you would never make light of mental health doesn’t erase the way you spoke about Lane.
Lane is my brother. I know the MAN beyond the uniform. You’re speaking with certainty about a decision you don’t have the personal context to explain.
You can assess what his absence means for the Eagles. But suggesting he wouldn’t walk away if they were winning is reckless. A winning record doesn’t tell you whether somebody is okay.
Mental health doesn’t follow the NFL schedule. It ain’t linear. It’s DAILY. A man can commit to a season and later recognize that continuing comes at a cost he can no longer carry. He has every right to act on that.
We ask these men to be accountable to their teammates, coaches, organizations and fans. That responsibility also extends to their children, their families and THEMSELVES.
Think about what your delivery tells the next person who is struggling and afraid to speak up. That their honesty might become material for somebody’s next segment.
Lane doesn’t owe you private details to earn your respect. He told us all what he needed to prioritize. That should have been enough.
You have a massive platform. Carry the responsibility that comes with it. Our world is divided enough

This is incredibly insensitive to Lane Johnson's current family situation, and quite frankly it's pretty appalling.
