Thanks, @martinmignot, for this thoughtful essay about the origin of @TeamOratomic, and why @IndexVentures decided to invest.

It's an exciting time @TeamOratomic. We are on a focused mission to build a utility-scale, fault-tolerant quantum computer, and have now raised $775M since our launch in March 2026.

Thank you, Nirmalya. It was a fun conversation.

Thank you, @chrismichel. (In the third photo, Chris made a futile attempt to make me look more like a Tech Bro.)

We're excited @Caltech and @TeamOratomic about mitten codes, which we hope will accelerate the journey to practical quantum computing. An extraordinary team worked on this project -- I especially appreciate brilliant contributions from Caltech students Aditya Bhardwaj, Richard Ma, and Nadine Meister.

Mark Wise liked to say that @Caltech is "heaven for professors." And professors like Mark make Caltech "fairly heavenly" even for students.

Mark Wise 1953-2026. Hero of theoretical particle physics, master of effective field theory, much loved teacher, mentor, and colleague, my best friend for over 40 years. An immeasurable loss.

@TeamOratomic has raised $300M to build the world’s first fault-tolerant quantum computer.

Now we’re growing the team to make it happen. We’re looking for extraordinary people to join us in pursuing one of the defining technological achievements of our generation.

I feel guilty when I ask Claude to do something I could have done myself (but would have taken me much longer). Claude is so busy, I hate to be annoying. I suppose I'll get over it.

That feeling when you meet someone for the first time with whom you have already co-authored a paper.

On Wednesday we dedicated @Caltech's Ginsburg Center for Quantum Precision Measurement. We won’t be moving in for a few more months, but it’s going to be a beautiful facility. We’re very grateful to the donors, and to President Tom Rosenbaum and former Division Chair Fiona Harrison, who have been champions of this project. It was a great day.
