And the media will likely play along with this, showing footage over and over. Twitter included.

The Cole family arrived in Steubenville in 1818, armed with the town’s first-ever piano. It may justly be called the arrival of the arts in Steubenville. The family’s only son, Thomas, would go on to found America’s first great national art movement, the Hudson River School.

Not only has the US never televised public executions in its history, but not even the Nazi defendants sentenced to death at the Nuremberg trials had their executions televised (it was deemed violative of the human rights that post-WW2 institutions were trying to re-establish).

The most amazing part of this is that Nidal Hasan is paraplegic and close to 60. So this disgusting spectacle will involve rolling him out in a wheelchair, then live-streaming his body as it's pumped full of bullets.

When I and others pointed out last night that public executions are carried out only by the countries we're told are the most primitive and savage (Afghanistan, North Korea), MAGA enthusisasts replied that we were too weak. Pummeling an old guy in a wheelchair with bullets -- as a reality TV show -- seems like an odd and dubious defintion of "strength," let alone an expression of the western values they endlessly claim they and they alone are trying to salvage.

I wonder what William Logan's reaction to Carson winning the Nobel was. He reviews her often, maybe more than any other writer. He opens up his reviews on her always like this:

BREAKING: Illinois’s assisted suicide law threatened Catholic hospitals and any doctor or nurses who refused to take part.

We just secured a court order protecting nearly every Catholic health care institution and members of major Catholic and Christian medical groups. 🔗 ⬇️

This sentence explains precisely what's happening. Turning into the enemy. Barbarism.

Tolstoy is the greatest oversight in the history of the award. And not really an oversight, it was quite intentionally NOT given to him. It was so ridiculous he had to answer questions about it every year

"My fellow New Yorkers recommended therapy. But I wasn’t looking for something that could be found on a couch. My problems were with God. My youth was over. I had done my period of national service in schools. I had proven that I had discipline

Oldie but still relevant

And I saw the river
over which every soul must cross
to reach the kingdom of Heaven
and the name of the river was SUFFERING.

Then I saw the boat
that carries each soul
across the river
and the name of the boat was LOVE.
