"."s are ignored in your @gmail address and you can add "+<any string>" to your address. So "e.g.+asdf123@gmail.com" sends to "eg@gmail.com": gmail.googleblog.com/2008/03/2-hidd…. nice for setting up filters. apparently everyone knew about this but me??? ty @winniethexu for the tip.
