Isaiah Taylor - making nuclear reactors

My favorite 5 mins of everyday is when my wife logs on to like all of my posts and then logs off again

Let it be noticed that once he decided that this race was existential, Elon basically just set up camp in PA and sat there until it flipped.

This is how he does everything.

Find the one lever that moves the world and then just go jump up and down on it, relentlessly

I want someone to do a YouTube experiment called “making a toaster in the US vs China”

Start with $10m in each country and try to make a new toaster brand.

For New Toaster USA and New Toaster China, publicly detail the BOM in each business, and show the process of procuring it

The entirety of Los Angeles just got this. 10 million people

Disgustingly easy to do business with China. Your average Chinese vendor responds on WhatsApp in 10 minutes with an invoice and wiring instructions. There are a few like this in the US but you have to hunt aggressively for them. I’m once again asking my countrymen to wake up

Gentlemen I am pleased to inform you that:

A son!

"Factorio Space Age" is insane because it appears to be one of the most legitimately dangerous drugs with the potential to gigafry your brain but is exclusively taken by cracked engineers who unironically want to "just play for a little bit" and basically get oneshotted by

Cisco won’t sell my team a network switch because we’re a nuclear company

Can corporate America stop being extremely fake and lame and help us build again

I know the last line is a throwaway comment, but this unfortunately does showcase the current divide.

“My European summer just got more expensive” vs “holy shit they might actually reopen the mill, maybe dad will get rehired”

Unfortunately yes. In 2007 the Sierra Club successfully sued the Forest Service to prevent them from creating a Categorical Exclusion (CE) to NEPA for controlled burns (the technical term is "fuel reduction"). The CE would have allowed the forest service to conduct burns without

Good morning.

Last night at 8:51pm Mountain Time, the Valar Atomics Nuclear Operations team brought Ward 250 to 10kW thermal output. We held this power level throughout the night.

This is another historic milestone from the Valar team, marking first nuclear power by a startup.

I see your sourdoughposting. You’re not fooling anyone

We're basically never going to run out of fissile material, the stuff is just ubiquitous. 20 billion years' supply just on earth.

"But what about when we run out of high-yield mines?"

No no you don't understand, we're going to abandon uranium veins because it's going to turn

This is enough energy to power the entire UK for 9 years straight—and with 20x less nuclear waste than standard fuel. What are we doing?

Man, sometimes I forget that I am not really a tech bro deep down. I am a midwest kid. Most of the time we get along but at the end of the day I don't care about the stock market or the GDP I want my country to make things again, I want my countrymen to be able to raise kids

ANNOUNCEMENT

I am hereby taking environmentalism from the left.

You did nothing to preserve the environment. In fact you made it worse.

And at the same time you gutted critical industries.

Therefore, you can't have it anymore. Your protection mandate is revoked. It's ours now

Today I'm excited to unveil Valar Atomics!

Valar is my master plan to make energy 10x cheaper in 10 years by pulling oil and gas out of thin air with nuclear fission.

This will untether energy from climate and politics, fuel American industry, and unlock a new era of growth

So true, Mr. Dragon
