Today is the final day to join SpeedHacks, our first official hackathon taking place this Sunday (10/11)

The challenge: Find ways to give people their time back.

Build and get help from @speedrun teams:
Dial (@DialAgent)
Alike (@DanialHussain_ )
Keewano (@karger_dima)
Darwin (@joindarwin)
and Sparta (@aryakanna9).

Winners will receive an expedited interview with the speedrun + Alpha investment team and $1K prize, plus teams can win $1K for each company’s “best use” prize.

Bring teammates or find your team there. Food, caffeine, and swag provided!

c u there

I hired a guy to wear Sparta on his chest for SF Tech Week.

Ads get scrolled. A person standing in front of you starts a conversation.

So we asked people one question: how much do you actually trust an AI agent to do for you?

Reading your email? Sure.

Issuing a refund or moving money? Never.

That gap is what Sparta Worlds closes.

Claude Haiku 5.5 dropped today.

Cheap, fast models are about to get handed refunds and cancellations.

We're running Haiku 5.5 through the same tasks. Guess the number :)

Top models get irreversible actions right about 56% of the time.

Would you let a coin flip issue your refunds?

On Oct 9 during Tech Week by a16z, the speedrun office turns into a demo floor for the most ambitious AI startups. Last time, 38 teams demoed to 400+ executives and the line wrapped around the block. This time we'll be in that room.

Invite only. Reply below and we'll send you an exclusive invite link.

Big thanks to @a16z, @speedrun, and the team for putting this together.

Today we're launching Sparta Worlds.

Now you can see exactly what your AI agent did before it ever touches a real customer.

Thank you @speedrun and everyone else who has supported our team!

spent the week profiling a training job. expected to find a slow kernel.

found this instead. the GPU was barely the bottleneck. it spent most of its time waiting on the data path. orange is idle time.

Trying to #connect with more people in building in the tech/infra/ai space

Especially from:
• Infrastructure
• AI/ML
• SaaS
• Startups
• Robotics
• Physical AI
• Tech in general

What are you guys building right now?

Let’s connect and grow together 🤝

Hi everyone, I dropped out of berkeley at 19.

Through @speedrun, I've been building my own startup and excited to see where it goes.

Wanted to use this account to connect and share what my team has been learning.

This is only the beginning and would love to connect with anyone :) #buildinpublic #new

What would everyone say is the most difficult part about building now?

Honestly, it’s always been managing so many different teams with different goals and timelines 🥲

What has everyone here been challenged with and what have you done to solve it?

The easiest way to build connections with your user is…

Understand their pain.

Building features is cool but… what people want is who they can resonate with.

There are so many people doing what you are doing.

What will set you apart is empathy.

When other founders are building features to look cool.

You are building because you know the pain of the people.

Same product. Different outcome.

How are you studying the pain of your ICP?

Going through @speedrun taught me a lot about VC. The biggest lesson: Investors do not just care about your idea.

They care about you.
Your speed.
Your clarity.
Your obsession.

Your ability to survive when things get messy. Ideas change. Founder velocity compounds.
