🚨 Breaking News: The EU has adopted the first-ever legally binding food waste reduction targets for EU countries to meet - 10% in manufacturing & processing, and 30% in retail, food services, and households, both by 2030.

This is a historic milestone, but the targets also fall short of the UN SDG 12.3 commitment to halve #foodwaste by 2030.

What needs to happen next?
🌍 Stronger national policies
💡 System-wide change in the food supply chain
🤝 Collaboration across sectors

At #TooGoodToGo, we’ve helped save over 400 million meals from going to waste. Now, we’re calling on policymakers, businesses, and citizens to join us in going further, faster.

Let’s make sure no meal goes to waste.

We’re thrilled to share that #petfood is now part of our Too Good To Go Parcels service. 📦 Think of it as saving the planet one bark (or meow) at a time!

Just like human food, pet food can go to waste—and that comes with a hefty environmental pawprint. But now, we’re teaming up with pet food manufacturers so we ensure that no food - including pet food - goes to waste.

This expansion will roll out progressively across Too Good To Go Parcels markets.

Too Good To Go is now live in Melbourne, #Australia! 🎉 Joining forces with local businesses to fight food waste and create a more sustainable future. 🌱

Japan has reached its food waste reduction target eight years early. 🇯🇵 Japan was able to reduce #foodwaste year on year by 510,000 tons (imperial), achieving the government’s target of limiting waste to 4.89 million tons. This is equivalent to an annual per-capita waste of around 38 kilograms or the equivalent to wasting 76 meals per person.

An inspiring example of commitment to sustainability! #FoodWaste #Sustainability
