SNC is proud to announce the Dream Chaser® spacecraft had a successful free-flight test today @EdwardsAFB, with support of @NASAArmstrong. The Dream Chaser had a beautiful flight and landing!

SNC is a step closer to landing the world’s first commercial spaceplane, Dream Chaser® - America’s Spaceplane®, on U.S. soil. FAA awards first commercial re-entry site license to historic Cape Canaveral Spaceport Shuttle Landing Facility. bit.ly/2MOYpPU

We have been given NASA’s Authority to Proceed for the first Dream Chaser® spacecraft mission to the @Space_Station. 2020 here we come! Learn more: bit.ly/2EoVUxz

Hi! I’m Hannah, a propulsion manufacturing engineer at SNC. As part of the operations team I work directly with technicians & engineers on our production floor, so how about a tour? I’ll be taking over SNC’s social media today to show you all the activity!

Wings. Are. Back.

SNC’s Dream Chaser® spaceplane has been officially named Tenacity! “Every critical moment in SNC’s history of innovation has called for tenacity, in overcoming challenges in order to support and protect explorers and heroes,” said SNC Chairwoman and President Eren Ozmen.

We are thrilled to share we have selected @ulalaunch to be the launch provider for our Dream Chaser® spacecraft’s six @NASA missions to the @Space_Station! The Dream Chaser will launch aboard ULA’s #VulcanCentaur rockets for its cargo resupply missions starting in 2021.

ICYMI: today we announced the landing site for our Dream Chaser spaceplane next year, the first runway to be licensed for commercial spaceplane use! So excited for the first runway landing for @NASA since the space shuttle retirement nearly a decade ago.

SNC designed the primary structure & subcontractor @LockheedMartin helped build it. We are happy we partnered w/them to create the most
advanced, high-temperature, composite spaceframe! It builds off heritage manufacturing work that Lockheed has performed over the last 15 yrs

SNC’s Dream Chaser® spacecraft looks a little different these days. We now have more white Thermal Protection System tiles than black. Aside from protecting Dream Chaser against high re-entry temps, they’ll protect against an impact from space junk moving faster than 20,000 mph.

@SierraSpaceCo & @GeneralAtomics will develop & demonstrate an on-orbit Nuclear Thermal Propulsion system for @DARPA’s program called Demonstration Rocket for Agile Cislunar Operations (DRACO). bit.ly/3daSS02

Big News! SNC is naming its first orbital vehicle set to launch with NASA: Dream Chaser Tenacity! Without SNC's tenacity, our Dream Chaser® spaceplane wouldn't be what it is today. This name honors the
grit, perseverance & hard work of the team. #NationalSpaceDay

A decade ago this week @NASA shuttle Discovery made its last landing after 39 flights & 27 years. Dream Chaser is ready to take the baton from the shuttle era and be the next generation spaceplane!

Now, we’re installing the final fasteners into the landing gear mounts! These mounts are critical to the landing operations of the Dream Chaser® spaceplane. They attach the landing gear to Dream Chaser, helping it to deploy & pivot when approaching the runway.

While it looks like our Dream Chaser® spaceplane is ready for a pool party, those foam pads aren’t actually pool noodles! They’re made of a more dense foam material and are meant to help protect the primary structure from damage while it’s being built.

We did it! Our Dream Chaser program passed a major @NASA milestone for its @Commercial_Crew Integrated Capability contract after data was reviewed from the Free-Flight test! Read more: bit.ly/2qygBBo

Forty years ago, space was changed forever! Space shuttle Columbia successfully landed at @NASAArmstrong after a two day test. It’s with that heritage & knowledge of what came before us that SNC is excited to bring runway landings back with Dream Chaser!

We're proud to announce the transfer of a 747-8i aircraft from SNC’s Aviation Innovation & Technology Center (AITC) in Dayton, OH, to Wichita State University’s National Institute of Aviation Research (NIAR) in Wichita, KS. #TeamSNC #TeamSAOC
