During her working visit to Kenya, today, Minister of State Dr. Usta Kaitesi (@UstaNcusta), visited the Naivasha Inland Container Depot (ICD) in Nakuru County.

She was accompanied by Minister of Infrastructure, Hon. Damien Murwanashyaka, and the High Commissioner of Rwanda to Kenya @ErnestRwamucyo.

The Minister of State commended the Government of Kenya and the leadership of ICD for facilitating the timely and efficient movement of goods and people to and from Rwanda along the Northern Corridor.

Today in Nairobi, Minister of State Dr. Usta Kaitesi (@UstaNcusta) and H.E. Dr. Musalia Mudavadi (@MusaliaMudavadi), Prime Cabinet Secretary and Cabinet Secretary for Foreign & Diaspora Affairs of Kenya, concluded the 10th Session of the Kenya–Rwanda Joint Permanent Commission for Cooperation (JPCC) with the signing of two (2) agreements and nine (9) memoranda of understanding to further strengthen cooperation between the two countries:

1.Agreement on Mutual Legal Assistance on Criminal Matters;
2.Agreement on transfer of sentenced persons;
3.MoU on Political Consultations;
4.MoU on Immigration Matters;
5.MoU on Housing and Urban Development;
6.MoU on Diaspora Management;
7.MoU on Water Resources Management and Irrigation;
8.MoU on Local Governance between Kenya and Rwanda;
9.MoU between Rwanda Investigation Bureau and Kenya National Police Service;
10.MoU on Culture and Heritage;
11.MoU in the Field of Conservation.

Nairobi, Kenya: Rwanda and Kenya have strengthened cooperation in Housing and Urban Development through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed during the 10th Session of the Joint Permanent Commission for Cooperation (JPCC).

The MoU was signed by Minister Damien Murwanashyaka on behalf of Rwanda and Hon. Alice Wahome, Cabinet Secretary in the Ministry of Lands, Public Works, Housing and Urban Development, on behalf of Kenya.

The partnership will facilitate the exchange of knowledge and experience in social housing, slum upgrading, regularisation and prevention of informal settlements.

It also provides for cooperation on sustainable human settlements, green building and housing financing models, supporting efforts to expand access to adequate and affordable housing and promote sustainable urban development.

Through this framework, Rwanda and Kenya will leverage shared experience and expertise to advance practical solutions to housing and urban development challenges.

Ce matin, la session inaugurale de la grande commission mixte de coopération entre le Rwanda et le Sénégal a débuté à Kigali, réunissant des experts des deux pays. Cette réunion est coprésidée par Festus Bizimana, Ambassadeur du Rwanda au Sénégal, et Doudou Sow, Ambassadeur du Sénégal au Rwanda.

Au cours des discussions, les deux délégations évalueront l’état actuel de la coopération et identifieront de nouvelles opportunités de partenariat entre le Rwanda et le Sénégal.

This morning, the inaugural session of the Joint Permanent Commission on Cooperation between Rwanda and Senegal kicked off in Kigali, bringing together experts from both countries. The meeting is co-chaired by Festus Bizimana, Rwanda’s Ambassador to Senegal, and Doudou Sow, Senegal’s Ambassador to Rwanda.

During the discussions, the two delegations will assess the current state of cooperation and identify new opportunities for partnership between Rwanda and Senegal.

The 10th Session of the Joint Permanent Commission for Cooperation (JPCC) between Rwanda and Kenya kicked off today in Nairobi.

Over the next three days, delegates will take stock of existing areas of cooperation between the two countries and explore new avenues for further collaboration.

Lake Kivu contains significant concentrations of naturally occurring methane and carbon dioxide dissolved in its deep waters. Rwanda is already generating electricity from this indigenous resource through operating methane-to-power projects, including KivuWatt and Shema Power. This demonstrates that a complex geological resource can be developed responsibly and converted into tangible value for the country.

Mombasa, Kenya: Rwanda and Kenya today marked a significant milestone in their energy cooperation with the arrival of the MT Sea Wolf, carrying the Rwanda National Energy Company’s (RNEC) maiden cargo of 40,000 tonnes of refined petroleum products at the Kenya Pipeline Company’s Kipevu Oil Terminal 2 (KOT2).

The arrival marks an important step in the shared vision of Rwanda and Kenya to strengthen energy security, regional cooperation and the resilience of petroleum supply chains within the region.

Speaking at the ceremony, Minister of State @zimuyenzi, on behalf of the Government of Rwanda, reaffirmed Rwanda’s commitment to strengthening its partnership with Kenya and advancing the broader vision of regional integration under the East African Community (EAC).

He expressed optimism that the arrival of the MT Sea Wolf will pave the way for many more vessels, further strengthening cooperation between the two countries and contributing to shared prosperity and sustainable regional development.

The milestone reflects the continued commitment of Rwanda and Kenya to leveraging regional partnerships to enhance energy security and support economic growth.

Kirehe: Minister of State @zimuyenzi, alongside various stakeholders, visited the ongoing construction works of the Kirehe Substation, which have reached 75% overall progress.

Once completed, the substation will play a key role in strengthening electricity supply capacity to support the development of irrigation schemes, including Mpanga and Mahama.
