That “local” Indiana number calling you may not be local at all.

SIM boxes route overseas calls through hundreds of SIM cards, making scammers look like neighbors.

Today I introduced the Stop SIM Box Scams Act to ban these devices and help federal agencies keep them out of our country.

Take away the tool. Limit the calls. #StopScams

Our neighbors in Connersville, Cambridge City and New Castle face a long recovery from last month’s floods. I’ve visited these communities, and my team and I are staying engaged as they rebuild.

I’m reflecting this weekend on my visit last week in Washington with Archbishop Charles Thompson of the @archindy.

We discussed Pope Leo’s encyclical on artificial intelligence. I share his concern that technological progress must protect human dignity.

AI holds great promise — and challenges. Our responsibility is to guide its development with care for our families and the next generation.

Dr. Jeff Wargo of Richmond and fellow Indiana dermatologists came by my DC office to talk about the care they provide our communities. He treats many of our Wayne County veterans, including some I met with recently.

Their work detecting and treating skin cancer saves lives. #IN06

I get to work with mayors across our district as partners to advance local infrastructure needs.

Mayor Steve Barnett of Franklin and Mayor Mark Myers of Greenwood came by my DC office to talk Johnson County priorities. I advanced $1.1 million through the Appropriations Committee for a much-needed stormwater project in Steve’s city.

We broke ground on a new terminal at Richmond Municipal Airport. The current one is 80 years old. Wayne County needs a new gateway.

The city did the work to get this project ready. I advocated for the $1.4 million FAA award to help make it happen. With 15,000 operations a year, this airport keeps eastern Indiana connected. #IN06

Senior Japanese lawmakers visited my office and the Capitol recently. No state draws more Japanese investment per person than Indiana.

Mary and I joined Southside friends Friday night to celebrate Mental Health America of Indiana’s 75th anniversary.

We’re grateful for 75 years of speaking up for Hoosiers facing mental health challenges and their families. That work matters, and so do the people who keep it going.

Hoosier business leaders came to Washington this week to meet with Indiana’s congressional delegation.

We talked about energy, workforce needs, and the regulations that can make it easier—or harder—to build and grow in Indiana.

Local communities should decide whether to approve a data center. The companies should pay for the power and grid upgrades they need—not shift those costs onto other customers.

This week, I voted for the Ratepayer Protection Act to help protect Hoosiers from those added costs.
