AI infrastructure is getting bigger and increasingly heterogeneous. GPUs are only part of the story. Networking, memory, CPU, storage, power, cooling and connectivity are all critical to scaling AI.

Some of the biggest breakthroughs may happen far below the model layer.

One of the most important questions in AI isn’t simply what these systems can do, but what values will guide how they do it.

Encouraged to see technologists engaging faith leaders in these conversations. As AI becomes more capable and more deeply embedded in our lives, wisdom, human dignity and flourishing need to be part of the design process from the beginning.

Technology should ultimately help people flourish. That requires more voices around the table, not fewer.

As AI becomes more personal, people will increasingly turn to it for questions of meaning, morality and faith. AI can support learning and reflection, but spiritual formation is deeply relational. Faith communities have an important role in ensuring technology strengthens human flourishing, but I do not believe AI can ever replace human connection.

The next era of AI will be won across the full stack.

OpenAI’s Jalapeño results are another strong signal. Training, inference and agents place very different demands on compute. There is no single architecture that is best for every workload.

The future is heterogeneous computing, with hardware and software co-designed to deliver the most useful intelligence per dollar.

$1.8 trillion: the projected spending on data center IT semiconductors and components over the next five years according to Dell’Oro. Staggering, but what interests me more is where that investment will go. More compute requires breakthroughs across the stack.

Humanoid robotics is a great example of what happens when multiple technology curves converge. Better motors, batteries, compute and AI are all coming together at the same time, and disciplined systems engineering is what turns those advances into something useful in the real world.

I’ve often described the future of computing as a trinity of classical, AI and quantum.

This Oracle-Quantinuum partnership is another step toward making that real. The biggest breakthroughs will come from applying the right compute to the right workload and increasingly bringing all three together.
