It’s l wild how in US politics some folks try to convince you that loving the USA is a bad thing. Or that being patriotic means you belong to a certain party.
What’s that about man

My finances are in such a funny place where most people would consider it extreme risk. The same people who are all in crypto and stock indices, levered on metropolitan real estate. a big basket of levered correlated shit. thinking theyre smart.
I'm allocated to a handful of obscure, uncorrelated, illiquid assets. That's the real financial safety in case you havent realized it yet.

I've been down a rabbit hole of ancient religions lately, attempting to understand the various viewpoints on God and Self. How do they each answer the big questions of life? I've had many mystical experiences recently that sparked my curiosity.
Since I was a kid I tend to naturally strengthen my own beliefs by steelmanning the opposite view. I loosely hold a belief until I understand the opposite side. (This is one reason I was drawn to shortterm speculation, I enjoy the flipflop bull-bear nature of it all)
One core concept that differentiates the major spiritual frameworks is how you think about "will"... said a different way; whose will REALLY runs this shit? whose will controls your life? is it ultimately your own will, is it God(s), is it both, neither ?
It's made me realize that my core spiritual idea is based on divine will. Any spiritual belief I try to reconcile has to be rooted in this concept since my life experience so clearly points me in that direction.
My life is magical when try to walk in accordance with a divine will. And my life is tragic when I operate solely based on MY will. (me me me)
It's something I first really understood in addiction recovery. "Thy will be done". Powerful concept that I hope I never forget.

Since my post below on july 23rd, too many positive things have happened in my life that it would take a long essay to explain.
Simultaneously I've had some dark challenges surface. We've had unprecedented loss in the family, a loved one leaving us too soon. I feel called to support my parents in ways that only a son could.
I'm reminded that such quotations are cliché for a reason; with meditation, prayer, and surrender of will, no challenge is too dark and no goal is too lofty.
In fact we all are much more capable than we could ever imagine. in the wake of dark times, I've had legitimate miracles happen and observing daily signs reminding my large, stubborn head to be open to much bigger opportunities.
And when I just slow down and surrender, the next action (or most of the time, inaction) becomes obvious.
God is love. God is good. And shake is shake, steadily falling and getting back up again.

Shake®@Notshake · Jul 23Up until recently I didn't really pray for things related to business and money. I thought it might be selfish. I thought I "should" be praying for other people.
I've realized the opposite is true. If I don't talk to God in business, I'm implying that it's my will, not his.

Today I’m revealing a very underrated move: the unc normal traffic whip with the tiny you-ain’t-got-this-one vintage AP

the ct5v is the American version of e39 m5 (one of the best cars of all time)
6 speed manual transmission, rowdy v8, four-door highway cruiser. A true “one car garage” solution
(And by American I mean it is way more powerful but lacks the beautiful design of German automobiles from the 00’s)

Shake®@Notshake · Oct 2It’s not the Cadillac ct5 v blackwing, although I did purchase one of these. immediately drive it off the lot 1,000 miles to visit family.
This car is even better than I imagined. GM’s design team was in flow state when they made this thing

Hoodie + the army surplus-inspired denim jacket available now by @ondastu
Shake®@Notshake · Jan 22new hoodie dropping soon for Onda, this is a pattern we worked on for last 10 mos. details:
- boxy fit / slightly cropped designed to hit at belt line
- special french terry that nobody else except Cherry is really using like this afaik.
- this terry creates a billowy silhouette+feels like fleece+super cozy+still breathable since its not fleece.
- god tier fabric if that isnt clear yet. actual miracle shit.
- sampled/cut/sewn/finished in los angeles with a fair wage workforce (this cost me arm+leg but was worth it)
- painstaking hours spent on the garment dye and sun-dye.
most brands overdo the sundye. we studied how diff cottons age in the sun (see prev shake posts on fade farm)

2 weeks ago I stopped forcing things with my business. I realized I was making a lot of decisions from a place of fear.
i cant tell u how many REALLY good things have happened for my business since then. Legitimately some of these outcomes I've been praying about for 3+ years. Just happened like BAP, that was easy.
I'm doing what I want VS. what I "should".... Put another way, having an internal instead of external external locus of control.

10 years ago I was very worried about the skills I lacked such as:
- software engineering
- interviewing at deloitte
- networking with suits who peaked in college
funny how I later made money from the traits I already had:
- niché and obscure taste in cultural artifacts
- strong intuition if a trend was on it's way out
- thrill-seeking behavior
- willingess to risk it all
and entry-level SWEs and consultants are trying to become taste-makers + gamblers

a key step in my journey as a speculator was realizing that often I need to completely cutoff from consuming the tweets and telegram messages of others.
In fact my most profitable months are really on some Rick Rubin shit, zenned out journaling my decisions, meditating asking God for help, and tabbing manically between DefiLlama + TradingView.
I realized that hearing others' trades was valuable for understanding positioning, but not for the trades themselves.
I realized that another man's strategy is not my strategy, so I couldn't even size into the same trade.
Fear Of Missing Out does ceases to exist in this headspace
