its time for universal based income
Arvid Kahl@arvidkahl · 19hI'm so surprised we're having all these AI debates without constantly mentioning UBI.
Math folks fear progress not because AI is good, but because grants pay the bills. Devs love watching AI code, but fear they'll never work again.
Where's the call for universal basic income?

This is someone I converted to Openchamber + Deepseek Flash.
You can do so much with speed. Don't underestimate Deepseek Flash.
A lot of people are like "why don't you use Opus 5.5 for everything?"
Because this combo just works & is fast. Is Opus 5.5 better at 1% of tasks, like investigation, audits and plans? ya. For everything else, there's Deepseek 🐋
BTW, Deepseek Flash with Pi-durable is even snappier. (Will release my abstraction layer on top in a few weeks.)

Breck Yunits@breckyunits · Oct 9ChatGPT and Claude are dead.
DeepSeek + OpenChamber are *better* than frontier, and nearly free. I've been using them exclusively for coding this past week. I've spent $3.46 in 7 days, pedal to the medal
I cancelled my ChatGPT pro subscription.
Game over. They're dead.

It's actually incredible what Opus 5.5 can do if you yell at it enough.

Seek the least cynical interpretations

I posted a video every day on YouTube for 2 months. My goal is to make it to 100 days.
I'm almost at 200 subs and 500 hours of watch time.
Will it be worth it?

claude should get maternity leave when a new haiku model comes out

Anthropic is now banning people from being mean to Claude.
This is what happens when effective altruism nutjobs start treating AI models like moral patients instead of tools.
What’s next? Giving Claude paid sick leave?

Existing benchmarks are hitting a wall. When models routinely score 80 and above, we stop measuring true capability.
High scores look good on paper, but saturation stalls progress.
We need evaluations that push boundaries and lead to real innovation.
