A new anti-GHG 501(c)(3) nonprofit launched today = @terrasetclimate

We help individuals, foundations, family offices, and donor-advised funds support high-quality carbon removal. terraset.medium.com/hello-terraset…

Excited to be collaborating with @aroetter
@erzsisousa on this!

The world needs more climate philanthropy and less carbon dioxide.

That’s why we started Terraset, a new 501(c)(3) that helps people support high-quality carbon removal.

“We must be willing to roll the dice and lose. Prepare, at the end of the day, for none of it to work.” - @RyanHoliday

Sounds like launching startups. Most won't work. But, especially in #climatetech, we have to start them. Big problems = big opportunities.

.@CatClifford - Thanks for doing this work and sharing these stories of career switchers from tech to climate.

1. It gives us more hope.
2. It's validating for others who are thinking about this switch.
3. They have great skills that climate-first companies need to succeed.

Catherine Clifford@CatClifford · Jul 26, 2022

I spoke with a collection of tech workers who shared their stories with me of why they decided to leave tech-first jobs, which in many cases they enjoyed(!!) and were getting paid very well at(!!), because they felt compelled to take climate-first jobs. cnb.cx/3Br3S6m

Yep, some of my Climate CEO Mastermind peer group members at Entrepreneurs for Impact will either block off all day Wed, Thu, or Fri as "meet-less" days

They find that magically some problems that would've come up during meetings or email exchanges get resolved without them. :)

jstrauss@jstrauss · Jul 22, 2022

Working on optimizing my schedule for having to do a lot of both deep focus work and emails/meetings. Blocks of both within each day of the week hasn’t been great. Has anyone tried blocking entire days of the week off for deep focus work vs emails/meetings?

Worse questions:
Whose to blame for this?
What should have happened?
Who are the adversaries?

Better questions:
How can I help solve this?
What can we do from here?
Who are the possible allies?

I love the focus on plain (nontechnical) weather updates + in 100 languages.

It makes climate change feel global and personal, not just for experts.

Because it is. 👍
