I hear from our community all the time about how much a secure job would mean to them, providing hope for their future. I’ve spent my working life advocating for more secure jobs and I’m now part of a Gov getting it done. abc.net.au/news/2023-07-2…

I am not going to share it, but the advertisement in @FinancialReview that has garnered so much deserved criticism is simply appalling and has no place in modern Australia. The terrible racist tropes aren’t worthy contributions to any debate and should be condemned.

Last week, I visited workers at @Wesfarmers API pharma warehouse. One of the issues is that labour hire workers are earning less than directly employed workers, for doing the same job. This isn’t fair. Our Same Job Same Pay legislation will help.

I channeled all my #TaylorSwift ticket anxiety energy (no, I was not successful) into writing about the state of #HigherEd after listening to lots of people in my electorate and reflecting on my own experience. thenewdaily.com.au/opinion/2023/0…

I am devastated to hear of the passing of Simon Crean. My first boss in politics, I learned so much from him. My love and thoughts are with Carole, his daughters and extended family. Vale Simon, and thank you for everything. X

Once again posting some support services for those who might need it after listening to allegations of sexual assault in Parliament and lines of questioning that may be distressing for many. The standard needs to be lifted. respect.gov.au/services/

I have such strong memories of the Caulfield Racecourse exam venue days! Feel a bit anxious just thinking about it to be honest 😰
Monash University Archives@MonashArchive · Jun 6, 2023Wishing all @MonashUni students the best of luck during this exam period! For current students or students who started here after 2019, this is probably an unfamiliar sight! It shows students taking exams at the Caulfield Racecourse in 2008

I remember first discovering Martin Amis’ work in a postmodern literature class as an undergrad at Monash Uni, I loved his work, devoured his books, and I’m so sad at this news.
