Matt Bornstein

Meet Mistral Large 4, aka Le Chonk.

• 1T parameters, natively multimodal. 49B active.
It is the best open weights model from US or Europe on aggregated benchmarks.
• State-of-the-art on critical workloads, including cyber defense, manufacturing and finance and it surpasses closed frontier models on visual grounding.
• Forged in Europe end-to-end and is deployable from Europe via our own Mistral Cloud infrastructure.
• Available to all via API today. Working with cybersecurity partners privately.

Open weights release end of October.

Proud to share that I've been recognized as one of the 35 Innovators under 35 by MIT Technology Review!

Developing world models has been an incredible journey over the past 8 years, both training the world models and leveraging them for imagination training and motor control 🌎

I consider @sama a friend.

But let’s think about what this means.

It means if you were to do the impossible as a mathematician and prove the Riemann Hypothesis or P=NP, you can’t buy a home with your winnings in Atherton next to VCs & CEOs.

Navier-Stokes may be worth Billions.

This model represents a step-function improvement on many benchmarks, and its training is ongoing.

Our internal model group arrived at the Navier–Stokes solution in 88 hours, using around 10,000 coordinating AI agents.

Throughout the effort, we maintained the strict safeguards—including monitoring and isolation—that we apply to all our frontier evaluations.

I love Smash 64 but I wish I was in it, so I hacked the original game to run in the browser and put myself + 1000 others in

i agree with this and think that CoT is at best an epiphenomenon of current training methods. it will break (in the future, not now). safety community too often centers thought terminating taboos like “neuralese” and “training on interp”

Introducing Atlas:

The world's first multimodal world model that generates image and video frames with pixel-perfect camera control and reconstructs them in 3D.

Model the world, move the camera, and simulate space & time.

$1.1B for the Machine Age.

Introducing H3 Max, new post-trained video model by fal Research.

H3 Max ranks #1 for overall quality, prompt understanding, and aesthetics against leading video models, on both first-party and third-party independent evaluations while generating a 5-second 720p video under 3 seconds.

H3 Max is 50% off for the next week, making it the highest quality, fastest and cheapest model for overall video generation tasks.
