Pollution risk doesn’t always present itself immediately, but when it does, the financial impact can be significant.

Environmental exposures are often driven by regulatory action or the discovery of contamination, with costs extending beyond cleanup to affect operations, reputation, and the balance sheet.

The AXIS Global Markets Environmental Impairment Liability (EIL) team underwrites environmental risk with a focus on real-world outcomes, working with brokers to structure tailored solutions for complex or non-standard exposures.

In our latest blog, @Toby Arnold, Underwriting Manager International Environmental Liability Global Markets, explores how environmental exposures can develop over time, why risks are not always immediately visible, and the factors that can influence how environmental liabilities translate into financial loss.

Cloud outages have become one of the most significant accumulation risks we are seeing in the cyber insurance market. As organizations deepen their reliance on cloud services, the ability to understand outage scenarios and their potential impacts is essential to sound risk assessment.

At AXIS, we are committed to helping customers navigate the growing complexity of cyber risk. To help address this challenge, we joined Moody's Insurance Solutions along with Gallagher Re, and Munich Re to develop this latest Cyber Industry Steering Group whitepaper. Through this collaboration, the whitepaper offers a practical framework for evaluating cloud infrastructure, outage events, and business interruption exposure.

Thank you to contributor AXIS’ Marco Rohrer and the Non - Nat Cat Exposure Management team for sharing their insights as part of this whitepaper.

Today #AXIS has released new research exploring how artificial intelligence is transforming the risk landscape, creating both unprecedented risk and opportunity.

AXIS commissioned independent polling of 500 CEOs and Chief Information Security Officers across the U.S. and U.K., revealing fresh insights into how leaders view AI’s risks, rewards, and impact on cyber readiness. Key themes from the report include:

CEO / CISOs – Differing Viewpoints on AI and Cyber Defense
• CEOs tend to view AI as a driver of productivity and competitive advantage whereas CISOs tend to see AI as a source of increased exposure

AI is Viewed as Both an Efficiency Driver and Investment Priority
• Organizations are rebalancing resources and this includes reducing headcounts and investing more in cybersecurity

Transatlantic Trust Gap: U.S. Optimism vs. U.K. Prudence
• AI is generally viewed positively among both U.S. and U.K. leaders though confidence in cybersecurity and preparedness vary as U.K. respondents expressed more caution than U.S. counterparts
