The Apostle Peter refuted this heretical idea 2,000 years ago:

Notice Peter describes them as dogs returning to their vomit and pigs returning to the mud. Their outward condition changed, but their nature didn't.

Escaping the world's corruption through knowledge of Christ isn't necessarily the same as being justified before God.
