Every time I write something critical of how elite academia is captured by bizarre ideologies, people claim that these are minor tendencies. Yet experts on things like the “liberatory potential of pilates for minoritized womxn” keep getting put in charge of major scholarly orgs.

So you have this woman in charge of the American Psychological Association, Rouse over at the American Anthropological Association, etc. It’s just not tenable to claim this stuff is minor or a right wing fever dream when these people keep getting put in charge of major orgs.
