This is an interesting read but I think misses on "pacing the frontier increases rents for the lead companies". A common form of it is requirements to increase inference spent serving customers!

This is also clearly overstated! Agents will absolutely figure out how to get money, broader internet access, etc. instrumentally while working on fairly minor tasks.
